Eileen Tanghal

Eileen Tanghal leads the Applied Ventures team as well as focuses on Applied Materials’ venture
capital investments in nanotechnology, lighting, displays and software.
Ms. Tanghal is currently board of directors observer at Illumitex and BT Imaging, and monitors our investment in Plextronics. She led Applied Ventures investment in Liquavista (acquired by Samsung) and previously served as board of directors observer for Fat Spaniel Technologies (acquired by Power One).
Entering her tenth year in the venture capital industry, Eileen has worked with several venture capital- backed companies in the US and Europe. She previously served as an investment director in the London office of Kennet Partners, where she led the firm's investment in fabless semiconductor companies Sequans Communications (recent IPO on NYSE Ticker:SQNS) and Wireless Audio IP, aka “STS” (acquired by SMSC).
Prior to this, Ms. Tanghal was an investment associate with Amadeus Capital Partners Limited, where she worked closely with portfolio companies including Plastic Logic Limited., SPI Lasers (acquired by JDS Uniphase), Forth Dimension Displays (acquired by Kopin) and Artimi.
Prior to entering the venture capital industry, she was one of the first ten employees, at PDF Solutions, specializing in semiconductor device design and fabrication. PDF Solutions subsequently went public in 2001 (Ticker: PDFS).
Ms. Tanghal holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from the London Business School.
