Aftab Jamil

Aftab Jamil is a partner in BDO’s San Jose office with more than 20 years of experience in public accounting.
He has substantial experience in serving the life sciences and technology sectors. Within life sciences sector, Aftab has served companies involved in drug discovery, medical devices and clinical research organizations. Aftab has served public and private companies ranging from start-up, development stage enterprises to established multinational companies.
Aftab has significant experience with SEC reporting, mergers and acquisitions, international operations and strategic partnerships. He has participated in the preparation of numerous IPOs and secondary public equity and debt registration statement filings as well as ongoing Securities and Exchange Commission reporting.
Aftab has also spent substantial time assisting publicly held clients and their audit committees to understand, evaluate, and implement the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, including preparations for reporting on internal controls under Section 404. He has been a key contributor in the publication of various thought leadership projects and has been a frequent presenter at numerous internal and external forums focused on financial reporting and business issues facing life sciences and technology companies. a Prior to joining BDO, Aftab was a partner in the Technology and Biotech Practice of a Big Four accounting firm . Some of life sciences clients Aftab has served include Applied Biosystems, Astex Pharmaceuticals, Talon Therapeutics, Monttigen Pharmaceuticals, Plumonx, DVS Sciences, Cygnus Therapeutics, Biolase, Bioimagene.
